Who we are:
KCPD Friends & Family is a non-profit 501(c)(3), non-partisan, volunteer service organization comprised of family members and significant others of sworn and non-sworn Kansas City Missouri Police Department members who wish to support the police department, its members, and the community.
KCPD Friends & Family is dedicated to taking care of KCPD officers and their families in times of crisis, injury, or illness. We believe in providing emotional support and/or encouragement in times of need. We strive to build a relationship with the community and creating a supportive environment for our families and the community in which they live and serve. We are the support behind the thin blue line.
What we do:
KCPD Friends & Family is organized primarily to operate as a support group for family members and significant others of all department personnel. Additionally, KCPD Friends & Family will help participate and/or facilitate community-oriented service projects.
KCPD Friends & Family offers a selection of specialty-designed clothing items and other merchandise with police-oriented insignia available for purchase by members and non-members. The proceeds from our sales help fund community projects, education opportunities as well as giving back to our officers when in need. Merchandise sales are normally held on the first KCPD payday weekend of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at KCPD’s Regional Police Academy but are subject to change or cancelation.
Family members and friends of department members can join KCPD Friends & Family for a one time fee of $30 as long as you remain active. To be considered in “active” status, you are asked to attend at least but not limited to three (3) activities per year. This can consist of any combination of quarterly meetings and/or volunteer opportunities.
